MyMacroGo was built to take the stress out of nutrition. We are a community of real people trying to make better choices in the real world. To keep this space safe, accurate, and useful for everyone, we have established these Community Guidelines.
By downloading the app or using our website, you agree to abide by these rules. We don't like banning people, but we will protect our community and our data without hesitation.
Respect & Safety
We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding abuse. We are here to support each other, not tear each other down.
You must not:
Harass or Bully: Engage in intimidation, stalking, or targeted abuse towards any user or MyMacroGo staff member.
Use Hate Speech: Post content that attacks or demeans a group based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
Dox Others: Share private personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers) of another person without their explicit consent.
Impersonate: Pretend to be a MyMacroGo employee, a moderator, or another user.
Data Integrity & Accuracy
Our platform relies on trusted, verified data. Deliberately corrupting our database hurts every user who relies on us for their health goals.
You must not:
Upload Fake Data: Deliberately uploading incorrect calorie counts, fake nutritional labels, or misleading menu photos.
Spam: Uploading duplicate menus, irrelevant photos, or promotional material for other businesses.
Manipulate the System: Attempting to reverse-engineer our AI, scrape our database, or use bots to artificially inflate points/rewards.
Troll: Posting nonsense content meant to disrupt the app experience.
Health & Wellbeing
MyMacroGo is a tool for nutrition tracking, not a medical device. We take the mental and physical health of our users incredibly seriously.
You must not:
Promote Eating Disorders: We prohibit content that promotes, glamorises, or encourages eating disorders (often known as "pro-ana" or "pro-mia" content).
Encourage Self-Harm: Any content encouraging suicide or physical self-harm will be removed immediately and reported to relevant authorities if necessary.
Give Medical Advice: You are not a doctor. Do not give specific medical diagnoses or advise users to ignore professional medical treatment.
Promote Dangerous Products: Do not advertise weight-loss pills, unverified supplements, or "miracle cures."
Content Standards (User Uploads)
When you use our Menu Scanner or upload a photo to the database, you are contributing to the community. Keep it clean.
We do not allow:
Nudity or Sexual Content: This is a nutrition app. Keep photos focused on food and menus.
Violence: Graphic or gratuitous violence.
Illegal Acts: Photos depicting drug use, illegal activity, or goods.
Copyrighted Material: Do not upload photos you do not own or have the right to share (e.g., professional photography from a third-party website).
Enforcement
We use a mix of AI moderation and human review to enforce these guidelines.
If you break the rules, we may take the following actions:
Content Removal: We will delete the offending photo, comment, or data entry.
Warning: We may send you a formal warning via email or in-app notification.
Account Suspension: Your account may be locked for a temporary period (e.g., 7 days).
Permanent Ban: For serious or repeated violations, your account will be permanently deleted, and you will be barred from creating a new one.
Note: We reserve the right to ban any user at our discretion if we believe their behaviour harms the MyMacroGo community or brand.
How to Report Violations
If you see a menu item, photo, or user behaviour that violates these guidelines, please help us keep the platform safe.
In-App: Tap the "Report" flag icon on any menu item or profile.
Email: Contact our safety team directly at support@mymacrogo.com or via the help section within the app.
We review all reports within 24 hours.
Legal Disclaimer & Liability
We feel strongly that actions disregarding these guidelines jeopardise the supportive atmosphere of MyMacroGo. Such actions may lead to consequences including warning, suspension of posting privileges, or, in some cases, removal of a member from the Services.
Information contained in the community features (including menu uploads and photos) is provided by third-party users. MyMacroGo is not responsible for such content and does not approve, verify, or otherwise endorse such information unless explicitly stated. You are solely responsible for your use of these features and for any User-Generated Content you post.
We reserve the right to enforce, or not enforce, these Community Guidelines in our sole discretion, and they do not create a duty or contractual obligation for us to act in any particular manner.
MyMacroGo expressly disclaims all liability in respect of any or all content posted in any community feature, including any loss or damage resulting from interactions with other users who use the Services. MyMacroGo is under no obligation to become involved in and disclaims any and all liability related to any disputes between its users, and you release MyMacroGo from all responsibility and liability arising out of or in connection with such dispute.
